Hi,
Can't seem to get a spark on my rebuilt merc 260.
So far I've tested shift interrupt switch...fine
All connections to distributor...fine
I'm not getting voltage across the coil when ignition's on.
Only thing I can't test is ignition amplifier (thunderbolt 4 ignition). Reluctant to buy new one b/c part is $300 and i am not 100% that this is the problem. All connections are good and batteries are brand new.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rick Bombardier

Disconnect the purple wire at the + side of the coil. Run a jumper wire from the + side of the battery to the + side of the coil and see if she starts. Remember you will have to disconnet wire to kill engine. This will let you know if amp is good.
