Hello, I just launched my Wellcraft three weeks ago and my 1991 155 HP ran great. I returned from vacation (boat sat for a week) and now it will not start. I got it to run one time and it idled very rough. I checked two of the six plugs and have no spark. Has  any one experienced something similar. Any help would be appreciated. Before any one says it I have read my Seloc and charged my battery, I am looking for any pointers.

Thanks
Brian

Re: No spark

Sounds like you dropped a cylinder or two. Can you switche the powerpacks on your engine and recheck to see if the problem follows? I'm not real familiar with your engine but if the problem follows then I would suspect the pack.

Re: No spark

Try to swap power packs before thinking the whole cylinder is gone. Start with the basics. Swap plugs around, and then check the wires. If the cylinders are on the same side of the engine, it could possibly be the pack.

Re: No spark

Finally had a chance to take another look at the motor. It is not that I have lost a cylinder or two but all cylinders have no spark. i also noticed that I do not have two power packs but one powerpack on the starboard side of the motor. With two 4-wire bundles leading to the magneto. Unfortunatly my 155 HP comercial motor is not covered in my manual. It covers 150 to 175. Has anyone experienced a similar problem with the same motor?

Re: No spark

I had the same problem. First, make sure you have a perfect charge on your battery. Just a good one won't cut it. The motor has to spin fast enough to charge up the stator. If you still have no spark, make sure its not the kill swith by checking that. There are trouble shooting steps you can find on the net to shoot the pack. I dodint have the specific tools to troubleshoot, so I spent 180 bucks for the pack, then I had spark. I have the same setup, and I broke down and got it. It may be your problem.
