No spark

I have a 9.9 hp 1996 Mercury with no spark. The last time that I took it out it ran fine for a couple of hours then died, let it sit for 15 minutes and started and ran fine for a couple of hours then died again. I changed the stator with a new one started and ran then died again and now I have no spark. Could the trigger be causing this problem or switchbox. I have replaced the stator, both coils and plugs. i had the same problem on a '95 25hp and replaced the switchbox and coil. i think it was mostly the switchbox.
