I have a Merc classic 50 sn OB17O676and could not start. Found i was not getting spark to #3 plug. Changed plug, wire and coil still no spark. Found a wire going from trigger that was corroded really bad, it broke off in my hand. I have e new trigger on order but i was wandering what other problems this could cause. Have been times while on water that i could only get to about 4500 rpm, was this because i was down a cylinder? Could this bad trigger wire cause problem with power pack? What else should i be checking? Thanks.

Re: No spark

Did you fix the trigger wire? Your motor will run at lower rpms with a cylinder down. You can check the trigger with a meter and the manual. They go through it step by step. If the trigger checks out I would suspect the power pack. I would first make sure all wires are good and have tight connections. Good luck.
CU

-----------------------
RUNNING THE MOTOR WHILE LISTENING TO THE HORN WILL MAKE YOU MORN!!
