Re: no spark

Does the starter engage and spin the engine at a fast enough speed to start it?

Are all connections clean and tight?

Did you check the kill switch?

Is it in neutral?

Re: no spark

yes, i checked the kill switch,it's in neutral, all connections are okay, just not getting spark. i'm getting spark into the 2 ignition packs.could it be possible they both went bad at the same time? and how do i check to see if this is the problem b4 i take it to the shop?

Re: no spark

Seems odd that they would both go bad simultaneously.

More likely that the trigger went bad, causing them not to fire.
Or a wire from the trigger broke.

There is a whole series of trouble shooting test that can be done to isolate the problem. The Clymer repair manual outlines them pretty well.

Re: no spark

Try checking the trigger resistance, but also the stator output voltages and stator resistance.

Re: no spark

thinking my boating adventure might come to an end, still new at it. don't know a whole lot about this force motor. could you point me in the right direction of where the trigger is and also the trigger resistance, and the stator are all located. i can't get the manuals from my local boat place for another couple of days. or any websites that might have a diagram on this force thing!! starting to like like this force motor. thanks so much for your information
