New to me 1991 Bass Tracker Pro 17 with 40 Evinrude. Boat was hard starting at first figured it just needed new gas and to be run. Got it running progressively smoother where it would idle but bog on wot. Not too much immediate issue most of my middle GA lakes are idle only. Took it out one evening it ran fine no issues other than bogging on wot. Went to load it up on trailer with no problem, but it sparked between lower unit and transom saver that was mounted to my trailer. Next day went to start it on muffs and had nothing. Normally my voltage gauge on dash lights up and shows 12+ volts. I had no clicking of starter or anything. Tilt and trim are ran off a different setup on a panther unit and aux switch and its own fuse setup in the back of boat. Swapped out for a battery that i had fresh off the charger still had same thing. Ive read and read and read all kinds of manuals and instructional on the starter solenoid, ignition switch, neutral safety switch and kill switch. Ive now gone through different guides in order trying to pinpoint a break in my wires or bad connection. Im getting no power to key on the main red wire and have tested the neutral safety by bridging it too. I can get the boat to start off of bridging the starter solenoid and with a test light i am getting power to the top terminal, but no other terminals no matter position of key. I havent found any inline fuses on the motor or on the console that run to the ignition. Ive replaced the key and the starter solenoid now too in hopes that those were the issue. Does anyone have any links or insight to my specific issue? Thank you and i am sorry if this is in the wrong area.
