I removed the carb from my 9.9 hp merc outboard to clean it. Here's the question....Will the Pilot Jet "bottom out" when I tighten it or just tighten it until it is "snug"? Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

My seloc manual says to tighten until snug and not to force it. These needles must not be nicked of it will cause a poor idle condition. Be careful as these are usually precision machined brass.

Thanks for the help. Already "snugged" it and re-installed the carb back on the engine. Runs kick a**! now!!! Can't wait to get it back in the water.

Just gotta be careful with them brass needles, once you booger em up, they useless......I've paid over $40 bucks for just one before....A hard lesson learned. Good luck, have fun, and stay safe. Live to boat another day...
