my 45 hp chrysler outboard produces no torx at high rpms. i can idel around the lake at low rpms but if i increace the rpms it slows to a stop. <br />motor not running. i put it in gear and turn the prop which in turn rotates the flywheel. this tells me there is no sheared pin. are there clutches?

Try squeezing the bulb in the fuel line. You may have a fuel problem. I would suspect that it is time to rebuild the carbs. Get a shop manual for your motor & have some fun.

Re: No tork at high RPMs

SoLittle thanks. but i do not loose power the rpms race to the topend 4500 to 5000 rpms with no thrust (tork). tonight we explored further with the motor placing a wedge in the flywheel so it could not turn, the prop will now turn on the shaft(plastic bushing?) very snuggly, but it will turn. do props wear out???

sounds like you spun the prop. Pull it and replace the hub assembly.Make sure your shaft is not worn down.
