If the down works, you're getting power, the fuse is not blown.

Most likely the trim limit switch has failed. Does up work when you hit TRAILER?

It doesn't have special trailer switch. The trim up does feel like it has 2 stages to it.thats what I'm thinking. The switch at the throttle is you idea as well?

Just want to make sure I know the terminology. Your talking switch in throttle not switch solenoid? Because I'm using same one for test

What engine package do you have? YR/Model/SN? If the solenoid isn't burried in the hull closed space, and you can assure a vapor free environment so you don't blow up.. what happens if you jump the two hot legs on the up solenoid?

Also, and please correct me someone if I am wrong, but the Trim trigger would be powered to the throttle handle, via the main harness, you could check If the power is making it two the harness, unplug the big connector at the engine(mine is round 10 pin yr1981 120) .. and check for voltage at the harness for the trim switch. (the attached chart, is for OLDer boats, so may be useless to you.. (source manual 3)

Ok. The 2 stage switch in the throttle handle is TRIM and TRAILER... Trim limit switch is on the port side of the gimbal ring, on the back of the boat.

If the TRAILER switch doesn't run the pump, you have a broken switch or a broke wire between the switch and the solenoid.

Chased2, what achris is saying is that the one power wire that goes to the switch on your throttle powers both up and down. If down is working but not up, you don't have a power problem going to your switch.

The switch having what feels like two stages means that the lower pressure is trim up, the higher pressure is trailer mode. I have this type; you press up lightly to trim the motor, you press it firmly to lift it to trailering height. The limit switch on the transom shuts the pump down once the upper limit is reached for boating, but the higher pressure bypasses that switch and allows the outdrive to be raised all the way up for trailering. If it goes up to trailer height, it's the limit switch on the transom. If it doesn't move no matter which stage of pressure you've applied, it's the switch on the throttle.

If it is the trim limit switch, make sure the screws haven't backed out and the switch has moved all the way to one side. If it's too far out of adjustment it won't trim up because the limit switch is so low it thinks that bottom is the upper limit.

Edit: also check and make sure you're connections are good at your solenoid and whatever tool you're testing with. That's quite a bit of sealer on those connections and you may be getting a false negative or a bad connection. All this is for naught if the solenoid is actually the culprit, and they do fail as I just had to replace mine for an intermittent trim up failure.

Do you happen to have a part number for out trim up switch as ours ate a bit different all I cam find is the 2 separate switches and harness

No idea a part number. Everything I can find says that some of those are replaceable and some require an entire new handle. And some that are replaceable require you to cut the cover off of them and glue them back on. Might be better off adding your own switches for trim up/down/trailer in a separate pod on the dash.
