No Water Draining From Port Exhaust Manifold

This year when I drained my engine I drained the starboard side first and by the time I went to drain the port exhaust manifold there was no water in it. I poked way up into the hole with my "poking wire" but got nothing. I seem to remember this may have happened in some previous years.

Has anyone else ever had this happen? Maybe the water siphons out or something when I drain the starboard side?

For what it's worth, I always suck five gallons of good quality PG antifreeze through the "headphones" after draining and have never had a problem and have never seen anything but clear water drain from the holes--no corrosion. This is a fresh water boat that usually lives on a trailer.

I've had this happen as well, I need to pay attention to what order I drain things in to see if that makes a difference. This year I got very little if anything out of the starboard manifold.

remove the hose at the therm housing , add water, verify it runs out the drain plug
This is a great idea but I've already put this baby to bed. I doubt there was any water in there--just wondering where it went.
