Pulled the boat out of water after 4 hours of salt water use over 3 days. Put muffs on the stern drive and turned on the hose, started the engine. After about 15 seconds realized there was no water return. Shut off the engine and noted the water gauge temperature was 185. Engine had been running fine until this point. I must admit I had not been keeping a close eye on the temp gauge during recent runs as it is partially hidden by the GPS unit.
Do you think the lack of water return is a failed sea water pump? vs. impeller? Not knowing how long the engine ran hot how do I know if it was damaged? and what would be the most likely damage??
Thanks
