I thought the same thing, and then looked it up and the statue is about 125' with it's pedestal. I know I've repelled 250' before ... and my first (and only) free climb was 100' ...

... so, maybe when I was younger

When I was younger, yup, did a 250' repel from a hovering blackhawk, but I don't think I could do these days, the springs in my legs have gone sprong or sprung, which ever way you look at it!
