1988 25HP Johnson, New fuel, Fuel tank, Fuel line, fresh fuel. The person I bought the boat from did not run use it for over a year. He claims he started it often. I sent it out for a tune up before the season started. It starts great (now that I know the correct starting procedures), runs low throttle good, but today being my first time out with this boat in a place I could go WOT, it started off like a raped ape, maybe 500feet out the motor faded out quick to a low rpm., almost as if someone backed off the throttle. I pulled the cover, had my son at the helm WOT, the inner butterfly was Wide open but the motor is bogging down like I was towing a barge behind. What could it be? And there is fuel in the bottom of the powerhead case. I will be checking hoses tommorow.
