I keep my boat in a slip in a fantastic fishing lake in NM. Herron Lake Only problem, it's a no wake lake so I have to always run the 55hp Suzuki 2 st . at low rpm. Will this eventually hurt or load something up?? What can I do to help or avoid problems. Love the peace and quiet but worry about the engine.. Boat is a 20 ft pontoon

The entire lake is "NO WAKE"?
I'd say thats NOT going to be good on your motor :(

no skiers, no pwc , just lots of sailing, awsome fishing for koke, laker, rainbow but NO wake. It is an osprey nesting area with a high population of the birds,,always fishing right beside you, ..Very cool, but no wake anywhere on the lake. always quiet, serene and beautifull but is it hard on a motor???

You've obviously got no choice but to do it. I'd use sea foam regularly to help against plug fouling.

SeaFoam is a fuel system treatment that works wonders on a two stroke engine to help reduce carbon build up from slow speed operation. My suggestion would be to install a prop with several steps of pitch less than what you have now. This essentially will raise the engine rpm without increasing speed. That means if the engine ran at 2000 RPM before and you were moving at 10 MPH, the engine might now rev at 3000 but speed remains 10 mph because the prop is taken less bite on the water. The increased revs will be better for the motor.

I will check NAPA for sea foam That prop advice sounds like good advice, kind of intentionally detuning. Exactly the opposite of what you usually see on this forum. Mine is a stock factory prop. 96 ..55 hp Suzuki oil injected 2 stroke.. How can I tell it's pitch so I can order a different one??

Re: No WOT

Pitch and diameter are often stamped into the barrel of the prop or on the hub which may be covered by the prop nut. You are looking for a Suzuki part number (if it's a Suzy prop) or numbers such as 11-3/4 x 17 (where 11-3/4 is the prop diameter and 17 is the inches of pitch). If you pursue this higher rpm route, each inch of pitch change (up or down) results in roughly 150 - 200 rpm change. Going from a 17 to a 15 for example would increase engine rpm roughtly 300 - 400 rpm.
