My charger is showing red even though the battery is showing 13.12 volts with a voltmeter. I have a two bank charger and the voltmeter shows fully charged (Green) on bank one @ 12.87 volts and charging on bank two @ 13.12 volts (Red). When I swap the banks the battery @ 13.12 volts is still showing (Red). Is the battery that is showing 13.12 volts defective?

I have had the batteries charging for 5 or six hours a day for three days and the battery that checks
13.12 volts is still showing red.
Thanks

P.S. Both batteries 12 volt Marine Starting batteries and are less than two months old.

Update...Both lights finally turned green on the charger. It is now reading 13.27 volts on the battery that was previously showing a red LED and 12.83 volts on the battery that was showing a green LED.

If I unplug the charger and plug it back in the 12.83 volt battery goes straight to green, but the 13.27 volt battery takes several minutes.

Any ideas as to what is happening?

Thanks

Battery's charge above 12.7V, (memorys no good) like 14.5 for bulk and 13.something for float. Voltage rate also changes depending on tempature

Need to test your bat to see if it has an issue. Could be it may have a week cell.

Thanks alldodge,

I called the store this morning and explained to them what was happening and they told me to return the battery for a new one.

Thanks
