I just spun the composite center out of my prop. I have only owned the boat for 4 weeks. NO I did not hit anything, but looking at the prop the last guy did (small gouge, slight bend).
I changed the composite center, now the beast is very noisy in neutral...clunk bang rattle rattle...even stalled once. is this the universals? If so how do I change them?

What prop is the next size "bigger" (less rpm more speed) than a 15X17?
THANKS

Re: noise in neutral

You may have u-joint problem, or gimbal bearing problems. The best thing to do is pull the drive and inspect them. If the gimbal bearing is rough or the ujoints rough, they will make noise. The upper part of the drive always turns when the engine is running, only the lower shifts.
If you aren't familiar with pulling the drive, you should really get a service manual and read about what you are getting into before you damage something.
