Noise on screen

I have just installed my Lowrance X67C fish finder and when I put the boat back on the mooring in still water there is a lot of rubbish filling the screen, all lines and dots, even with the engine off. Transducer is in recommended position and away from other electrical leads. The only thing I reckon it could be is that the power cables are wired to a switch and are combined with the GPS leads also so when I flick the switch it provides power for both. I have tried not plugging in the GPS also and its the same. Any ideas????

Try turning down the sensativity.

i have done this, but it needs to be turned down to 50% to clear it up. Any views on the electric scenario I have posted?

Took the boat out last night, seems to be pretty good when out at sea especially when I set the unit to display fish symbols and depths, it clears up a lot even at 95% sensitivity. Any comments on this please??
