non skid surface - opinions needed here!

I am close to finishing my first boat build. It is a flat bottom skiff, 15' by 5'6". Built stitch and glue style. I am thinking about using a non skid finish on the entire inside of the boat, including sides and benches. Any downsides to this?

Thanks

Nope, but I would use something like Tuff Coat from Cabelas or maybe something similar from iboats. It works great and it will do a nice job of covering any of those minor imperfections that come with S&G building.

Paint with non-skid added to it can be a bit harsh and I find it retains dirt well.

A really good comprimise is interlux's intergrip product. tiny plastic spheres that soak up paint after you add them. They come out just a little bit rough but are fine on the feet, etc... I just did my interior with this in imron paint.
