I just changed my water pump and noticed the water flowing out through this hole in the picture.

I never seen it like that, and is it normal?

I would drop the lower unit again and make sure the pump housing and the water pipe are joined.

My motor trickles out of the same spot. That seems like a high flow rate there. Still have a good strong tell tail?

Looks like you broke the gasket the S/S upper base sets on , the one with the silicon bead made on it, this will result in water squirting under cup.

S/S upper base - do you mean the shift shaft base? Today, I took the LU off and tried to move that base but it was stuck on there. With a little prying with a flat head was ripping the S/S base made of rubber apart. So I'm probably I just go ahead and buy a new base and replace that part. Go from there.

Inspected my water pump assembly and it look fairly good. And now I think my water pump tubing is not aligned bc now water is flowing out of the hole above the S/S.

The seals on the water tube where it connects to the motor is probbly hard from the heat from the motor running and is leaking some, but if the teel tail water is good itat seal is not of great consern. Some of the pressure is probbley from the water hose as it has more pressure than the waterpump on the motor puts out and is bypassing out at that location. I have a 70 hp that dose the same and has ever since I got it in 1988. When the motor is in the water it dose not do it then.
