i need help wiring my boat i purchased it and the wires under the dash are a mess .i need to know how to wire up my gauges the only thing that works is the speedometer .thats because it hooks up on water line. i need to know if i take alll the old wires out. where to start with each gauge .like the power trim. the fuel gauge, the water gauge, the lights,, and the tachometer . please help me im restoring my boat and need help!!!!!! thanks joe

Get an ohm meter and start tracing wires. Label each one when you find each end.<br /><br />Get a manual for your outboard this will assist with the trim and motor wires.<br /><br />Check http://www.tflx.com/PDF/99320.pdf which is a telflex web site which will also help with your tach.<br /><br />Also check http://outboardparts.com/troubleshooting/troubleshooting3.htm which is an OMC troubleshooting page.<br /><br />I won't lie to you but chasing "electical gremlins" really stinks.<br /><br />Bob :)
