Nosiy drive train

Are the 4.3 liter mercs known to have noisy drive trains? Mine seems to be. Also, So they normally put out a little white smoke upon stratup?

When was the last time the drive was pulled and the bellows checked for water, the gimbal bearing checked, the ujoints checked, the alignment checked, the gear lube changed, the impeller changed. All should be done at least every 100 hours or yearly which ever comes first.
