to everything, there is a season.
I'll give you an example you might be able to readily relate to...
Vladd the Impaler. As a boy, Vlad was abducted by his father's enemy. He learned early-on and first-hand the tactical value of prisoners.
Can you tell me why he had no problems with his enemies executing prisoners after he came to power?

Correct.

Now, given the fact that pelosi et al cannot place alqeuda prisoners on skewers like Vlad did (least-wise, not with the world watching), the enemy has an upper hand whenever it is fortunate enough to obtain some.
In Vlad's day, it would've been a simple matter of rendering 10 eyes for one eye (or other body parts). This , I'm affraid, is the only way to stop them from using innocent hostages like pawns, or like the losing dogs in Vic's stable. They execute a prisoner, call-up club G'itmo and order the execution of 10 POW's. Of course, that won't happen, because "we are better than that",as are our allies.
And in the absence of one's head as a barganing chip, what do you have? Appeasement. Yea,, it hooovers, dood. But come-up with a better plan -- please.

The French had no dogs in this race, they simply took advantage of a bad situation and made it worse, this was appeasement for financial gain, and totally unnecessary.

BTW 12er, quit trying to bloody my good name. :p :D
