98/75hp 3cyl 2stroke.
The motor runs great just won't charge
Stator tested ok.The yellow leads have .4ohms between them.
They have no resistance to ground.
That seems the only tests for the stator.
New voltage regulator.
New tach.
Thanks,J

Jerry check to see that you have AC output on each yellow wire and it should be about 10+VAC at idle.If one side is low or no output the stator has a broken wire or winding...

The yellow leads when unhooked have no voltage while running.
.4 ohms between each other.
They have no resistance when tested to ground.
When hooked to the reg. they have 12v I think coming from the reg.
The grey lead has about 7-8v when not running.

Thanks,J

The 2 yellow wires are the ac output. I would think you should have about 16volts or so on those wires when measured with a DVA. A regular digital volt meter probably won't be able to capture the output from it. You need a DVA. If you don't have voltage output with wires unhooked and using a DVA to measure, replace stator.

Never thought of the DVA(I have one).Gonna do that test before I buy.
I've been on line with Someone from Outboard Ignition . com
They've given me tests and advice.
They suggested replacing the stator.
Ordering one today.

Thanks to everyone who contributed.
I'll do an update when I'm done.J

Make sure you run rpm to about 1500-2000 because at idle, output will be very low. I find it odd your resistance is within specs, you don't have any shorts to ground yet you have no output. If you had missing or broken magnets, it wouldn't run.
