Have a few questions here that I am having a hard time getting answered. I just had my boat in the shop I have a 2005 1775 Lund Pro V with a 2006 75hp EFI 4s. The engine is making oil like crazy and we thought maybe the fuel pump was leaking into the crankcase or something well anyway it was not and they could not find any other problems. So the mechanic and I were talking and decided that I may have the boat over propped because I can only get 5400 RPM at WOT. The Prop I have on there is a 13 1/4 X 15p which I think is a small pitch for that boat already. My question is what prop is recommended for that rig and do I possible have a problem with my throttle not opening up all the way or something. I called to get a 13 pitch prop and they do not even make them in that size. The guy at the prop place told me that boat they usually are using a 17 pitch with that motor and are getting 6000 RPM. Thank You

Re: Not Enough RPM?

a 17 should be the prop you should run.but lately at our shop we have had a rash of bad injector .on merc's.you might have a leaky one that is putting to much fuel in the cylinder and blowing buy the rings and making oil
