Not returning to idle

So my engine is not returning to idle after cleaning the carb and replacing remote throttle cable. The part highlighted in the image does not return all the way back not allowing it to return to idle.


if i put pressure on the nut in the back and pull it will return to idle. which part is causing this to not return to idle? I put a little wd40 on the moving parts but it still is an issue. So i put a return spring on it to put tension and it works like a charm. I would like to resolve this with out the spring.

Do you all know if there is a reliable video of this process. I thought I had adjusted it properly. I will attempt to adjust it again this evening. Thanks for the help.

don't know about a reliable video but the info don posted is the most reliable info you will find anywhere

if you can't follow those instructions you should have a pro take care of it for you
