Earlier this week with the snow fall I noticed that all the towns surrounding Mansfield had their roads/streets plowed and salted. Mansfield only had their streets plowed, NO SALT.

My friends and I thought it was just a plan to put salt down after all the snow quit falling. Nope, the mayor was on the AM radio station and said they didn't have the money for road salt!

Thanks to when the security level gets raised, our city tax dollars has to pay for it. Due to this, our town is now broke.

The city is trying to push a half cent income tax increase. That comes out to about $2.30 a day on a 50K salary. With playing with the figures, that is now more than the state tax.

The politicians can't figure out why mass numbers of people are leaving this state?

Sounds like a case of taxation without representation. Our saftey is surpose to come first. At least I always thought so.

City Income Tax ????!!!!!
That $ucks.......
I Knew there was Something I Like about Rural Living.....
Over in Vermont, There are Several towns I have to Drive thru,
That the Tree Huggers instituted Salt Free Zones.......
Considering that the Best Roads in Vermont are Listed on the Rand/McNaley as
"Unimproved Goat Trails"........
It makes for Interesting Driving.....

I don't live in the city limits. I live in a township, but I still have to pay income tax to the city because that is the main office for the company I work for. I can see the company paying for the income tax, but for the citizens that live outside the limits should not be taxed. But hey, thats politics and it stinks bad...

Hey SS Mayfloat,

Here in NYC, the city was illegally taxing people who worked in the city, but lived outside the city limits, NYC taxes, ecentually, a "Commuter Tax".

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the city could not tax anyone who did not reside within the city limits, and that NYC could not collect a "Commuter Tax" from non-residents, as a "Commuter Tax" is Unconstitutional , and the tax was dropped after the Supreme Court finally threatened to allow non-city residents to sue NYC.

I'm sure that the same rule should apply to you!

Fight this legislation!

It's "Unconstitutional"!!!!
