Hello, Farago.<br /><br />Welcome to the board.<br /><br />When you start the engine out of the water, do you have it connected to a hose?<br /><br />When it is in the water there is a small amount of back pressure on the exhaust, which calls for a more correct procedure.<br /><br />Be sure to follow Merc's instructions for starting procedure.<br /><br />Let us know what you find.
