Not sucking water in the intake.

I was driving my boat around the lake and it started to over heat. I took it out of the water and took off the intake and there was rubber pieces falling out of the intake. Is there a belt in the engine that turns a certain fan or prop that sucks the water in that might have broke? Can you tell me where the cover is to get to the belt, if that is the problem. Thanks

Sounds like pieces of an Impeller in Something....

Those are chunks of impeller. When was the last time you had it replaced? Regardless, that is the first thing I would do.
