Now they're censoring my cartoons!?

Was watching a Tex Avery cartoon (remember Droopy?) and several scenes were deleted from the original version. Namely the ones involving anvils on the head and the always popular pitch fork to the tookus. In the anvil scene, they deleted the impact and showed the character being "jacked" back into shape and in the pitchfork scene they zoomed in on the character's face where as before, you saw the entire character.<br /><br />These were the cartoons my parents grew up on and they're both reasonably sane people. I can't believe that someone thinks that kids will be mentally scarred by seeing an animated dog get smacked in the head with an anvil. That's funny stuff!<br /><br />Next thing you know, they're gonna be digitally adding parachutes the Coyote.<br /><br /><br />spots

No more ACME explosives either. Don't want em to grow up to be terrorists going around blowing up stuff. AHHHH, those were the good old days, obliviating carbon atoms with cherry bombs and M-80's. They don't allow Halloween costumes in our skools anymore, might offend somebody.

Is that the one where one of the forty theives took that old guys false teeth as they rode through pillaging the village <br /><br />I remember Popeye in one of those saying a line something like Abu Hassan Hassant got it anymore.

Thank god we have those that know whats best for us. I can't imagine what would happen if Droopy, roadrunner or bugs actually did something funny. I was frequently confused with how it would feel if an anvil fell on my head.

But they can allow shi* to be spoken on tv and partial nudity, blood guts, real terror, violence. Next they will be censoring the Cookie Monster on Sesame St from eating too mant sweets.<br /><br />Something is wrong with the censor's focus.
