Boone County Water Rescue has been waiting a long time for our new vessel. We just completed the sea trials and there is no doubt this thing is a beast!

Boat was custom made by Munson Boats in Washington State

I assumed it was up that way. Crystal clear water and the round rocks on the bottom. Beautiful water and beautiful boat.

One of the TV shows used a similarly made boat in one of their shows as a water taxi up that way. Seems the ramp in the front is very accommodating for off loading in remote areas.

Yea the sea trials were up there the boat in service will be in the clear blue waters of the Ohio River... not! Munson is using this boat a lot because they have never built one like this that is this large with the capabilities of this vessel. It is basically a EMS ambulance on water, a full on site command center, a dive vessel, a fire engine, and a quick response vessel all wrapped into one. They told us that the only vessel that comes close to this was made for a group that we are not allowed to mention!

Yea we run our boats every weekend and rotate engines when idleing to save on fuel. I am not sure what the top speed is but I think they said the it will run right next to our other boat that runs around 65 I believe. The engines are proped for pulling power though instead of speed.

I would hate to guess what the cost of one of those babies is?
Man is that ever a nice rig!! 3 outboards seems way over the top, fuel and operating cost's must be way big, but what do I know?

Yea i'm not sure if I'm allowed to say what the cost was because it was purchased with department of Port Security grants but I will say it was well over $500k. The three outboards serves a couple purposes. First and foremost we need to ability to literally move barges and have done so before. We have towed stranded tow boats and have pulled 40' vessels out of the mud with our other boat but it has 3 250's on it so it struggles. Second is the increased control in tight spaces. Also remember that this is 36' boat, could be 34' i just can't remember which, so she needs a little juice to get up and go!

Way cool. As an Emergency Services guy, a member of the local fire department water rescue team, and designated boat driver, when I come to KY to visit my brother, can I stop in and take her for a spin? LOL! I am jealous!

Unless it’s a major function like the WEBN Fireworks we are the only rescue agency on the water every weekend during the summer in one of the most crowded commercial traffic areas on the Ohio river and we patrol over 100 miles of river. And haven't bought a full sized boat since the early 80's if I’m not mistaken. We are one of the largest water rescue agencies in the county besides on the coast line with nearly 60 members and 20 divers. And did I mention that we are all Volunteers. So I think we have earned it. Thank you

The picture was taken somwhere in Washington state I believe. Yea I wish we had water like that around here.
