Greetings. Is there any way in general to get a full description of parts from parts explosions showing screws, bolts, etc. This is for Johnson. Any kind of cross reference, etc? Many of the parts are used on many models so this would help many of us trying to replace broken, stripped items.
I would like to know length, diameter, thread size so I can substitute or use other parts I already have.

Thanks.

No such thing that I am aware of. Not only that, many of the fasteners that OMC used were somewhat special. Like 7/8" long or special thread length. Stuff like that.

Best thing I can say is start your own list on special tools and parts for OMC . Be surprised how fast it will grow.

If you go to boatsdotnet and drill down to your bolt, click on it and the next screen will indicate what other motors this bolt is used on.
Doesn't help with actual length, diameter, thread size but handy just the same.

Yes Fed, I actually do that more often they you would think. I like the boats dot net website and wish iboats would do something similar on here. And once you do have the actual part number, search on it on the usual search sites and some give the sizes. Not always, but some times. Working on older engines, you have to get real creative to get the parts you need... :thumb:
