When a my car is inspected, a inspection decal is placed on the windshield of the car. What are the decal requirements for a boat trailer?

Re: NY Inspection Decal

There are no inspection decal requirements for a boat trailer or small utility trailer in NY. Most people, including myself, never have our trailers inspected. I have been pulled over at a registration check while towing my boat and all they wanted to see was the trailer registration, never even mentioned the trailer inspection. I've owned a trailer boat for the last 17 years and have never had one inspected and have never been asked for the inspection proof. As a further note, I also know of no one who ever was asked for or received a ticket for an un-inspected trailer.
If you still decide to have it inspected, you're supposed to keep it with you and available for show if ever asked.

You are supposed to keep it with the reg in the glovebox

None of my 3 BOUGHT NEW NY trailer boats have ever had one, the fee is 10 dollars which ensures there going to see if lights work

Last one i had was on a 24' travel trailer in 1980

if you travel through Ithaca ny you had better have the trailer inspected. They will give a ticket for non or outdated insp. on trailers

Are you sure you are not talking about registration? You can't tell the trailer is inspected or not unless you pull someone over and then ask for the inspection sticker.
