Hi,<br />Do You have any idea how many hp it has?<br /><br />Take the cowl off and take a picture on right and left side. Post it here and I'm sure the make can be identified. The exact model and hp could probably be determined by how much your outboard weight and how many cylinders, and also if it has carburators or fuel injection. Also if it has CDI box or not will help a little to determine how old it is.<br />Even the orginal paint you find under the black paint will help determine some how old it is, if it is a Suzuki:<br /><br />Blue engine: 1980-1982<br />Light grey engine: 1983-1988<br />Grey-darkgreen: 1989-1996<br /><br />The ID plate on a 2-stroke Suzuki DT... is located on the left clamp bracket (at least it was so on a DT65 I had before). It is a metal plate and the serial number is stamped into the plate so if it is painted over you should be able to disolve the paint on the plate and see the numbers.<br />The plate look like this:<br /><br />
<br /><br />On older Suzuki:<br />Between 1975 and 1979 the year is determined by "year-letter" before the engine number this way - A=1975, B=1976, C=1977, D=1978, F=1979<br /><br />I suggest You also have a look at brownspoint.com<br />and go trough some models You think it may be. It is excellent parts list pictures there You can have a look at.
