Re: O-ring for tilt cyliner on 93 Force 120
Don't waste your time going to bearing and hydraulic houses. You'll never find it.
However, what you describe is a serious problem that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. That wiper keeps water out. Water inside your system will destroy it. You may already be in a situation where it is worth taking system apart just to flush out water.
1993 rams have a metric tilt head with a proprietary wiper size. Your best bet is to buy an older ram and swap it out. The Chrysler design (1980-1991) uses industry standard sizes and a complete seal kit is $20 off ebay. No matter what the condition, a Chrysler/Force ram can always be rebuilt for cheap. The only fatal problem for a 1980-1991 ram is a rusted out shock-eye or a rusted out piston.
1993 used ATF and you're a bit overdue for a complete rebuild anyway. ATF is red and it attacks the rubber seals under high pressure. 120HP is a big enough engine to generate high back pressure at full throttle. If it was my engine I would rebuild all the rams, flush pipes thoroughly, and refill with hydraulic oil. No need to worry about your pump. That tall skinny pump is the most trouble free and durable design ever used on any Chrysler, Force, Mercury, or Mariner engine. Its only weakness is that if the rams seals split from atf and put out debris then the pump needs to be rebuilt along with the rams. It is very sensitive to debris shards.
Your second best bet is to swap shock and lift cylinder caps. You can buy 1980-1991 shocks off ebay for cheap. Heck, I throw 5-10 of them away every year. So you don't care if your shock ram gets fubar because of water intrusion. However, this is just a delay tactic. Your shock is just as old as your lift. It can't be too far behind before that tilt head breaks as well.
Hope that helps. BTW - once that system is rebuilt and filled with hydraulic oil it is one of the best TnT ever made.
