I had a set a few years ago, that I was able to restore the paddles on, in fact I remember the day I did it because I was watching the Indy 500 race, but they were split out and didn't have any finish left on them. I cross drilled the paddles and put bamboo rods in them with glue and clamped the paddles together. Used my orbital sander and got the handles and paddles back in shape and put a couple of coats of spar varnish on them and I ended up selling them for well over $400 dollars for the pair and the guy that bought them was thrilled, the had the name of the company and the year they were made burn stamped in the end of the handles, they were made in 1929
