I hrecently have been having some electrical problems with my boat (2003 Bone Cape Island w/ 96' Johnson 112spl).

I believe that the problem is a result of how certain items are wired in the boat.

I currently have 2 deep cycle batteries dedicated to a trolling motor, 1 deep cycle as a house battery, and 1 cranking battery as a starting battery.

The current setup has a battery switch (1/2/both/off) that separates the house from the cranking. The positive cable off the engine is connected to the battery switch main as is the positive lead to the switch pannel that runs all electronics (electric trim tabs, sonar, fuel flow, tach, nav lights, courtsey lights, fuel gage, bilge pump, recirculating pump, aeriator pump, and horn).

This allows me to charge either battery when running, and use the engine (6 amp) to recharge the batteries.

However, under this senario, it appears that there may be too much power draw to run these electronics. Currently, when underway and when using the trim tabs, my sonar shuts down from loss of power.

I need some help figuring out this mess.
