I read an article, in which they mention trims that attach to the cav plate. The Whale Tail, etc.. There was a mention of one called "The Edge". A stainless steel add-on that attaches to the bottom of the plate.
I've Googled, but can't get a lead. Can anyone help?
Thanks,d:)

Stingray offers a trim tab kit to mount on the underside of their product. There are two, one for each side. If the hydrofoil doesn't slow the boat down enough for you, add these. I also find no info on The Edge, but have seen them. Must not be made anymore.

It was a recent article. It still may be discontinued.
Do I note a touch of disapprovel for aftermarket products? I just wanted to hear what their claims were. Inquiring minds.... and all that.

No, not disapproval. Doel Fins and Whale Tails are good: If you throw them on a signal fire, you get a nice black, smoky, highly visible column.

while I have to admit the Doel fin and such should be considered a last resort after careful trimming and weight distribution.
I have had very good luck with doel fins on 2 very different boats vastly improved hole shot
able to stay on plane at lower power and less bounding in the waves. No adverse handling or other problems.
And one boat my mother used to get stuck in the mud and rocks almost every fall.
Both my instalations were on boats properly set up and trimmed but needing a little guicker planing and running attitude for short drivers one 5 ft. one 5ft 2. to see out easier. They worked beautifully for that purpose.
I'm sure top speed was reduced but unable to tell without a speedometer.
Setups like smart tabs are the best way without a doubt but some folks don't have the money or expertise
to install.
