Hey all, I can not find anything in my manual about this. This head has orings and not a gasket. I pulled one head so far and all the water jacket holes were filled with silicone. I have read that it's not good. I am just not certain where I should apply silicone. Anyone have the correct answer?

From the OEM service manual from my '98 Johnny 150HPV6, page 4-19: The Orings are greased with triple guard grease and installed in the block. a 1/16" bead of silicone is put around each water passage.

In your case, you need to remove all the old silicone, as well.

I know you said each hole. Wondering if the top example would be better. All holes were blocked off with silicone. Thinking that was my intermittent over heat issue.

I appreciate all of your help. My thought was that grouping would add more cooling surface. Going to put it back together on Sunday. Grease for orings showed up today 👍
