Got a 1997 200 Ocean Pro. Are the head bolts stainless? I can't tell. I cleaned them shiny and don't know wether or not to paint. What bolts "make" an Ocean pro. by being stainless vs non-ocean pro?

Hey...

Got your email, and will do some measurements and checking this afternoon.
Most all the bolts on all the OMC engines are stainless steel.
I don't know about the older models. (1979 crossflows are loaded with stainless steel bolts.)
On yours, (I have the same) I have not seen anything except stainless steel bolts for all fasteners.

Ocean Pro is just a trademark name...like Vindicator, FastStrike...

But, before I am corrected....some models did have stainless steel water pump parts...

Edit: I meant to say chrome water pumps.

I wouldn't worry about it, just assume stainless.

Pretty simple - if a magnet doesn't stick to the bolt, it's stainless.
