When installing my outdrive yesterday I noticed a small leak. I appeared to be the upper seal where the vertical driveshaft goes in. I pressure tested the outdrive in the winter when I replaced the gear lube, held 15# overnight. It seems to be a very small leak....maybe a teaspoon over the winter. I decided to leave it......wasn't in the mood to separate the outdrive and all. I have a reservoir. I know it's taking a chance but I'm getting lazy the older I get!!!

Maybe older but darn good knowing right where a teaspoon of gear oil came from!

There must of been some reason for the pressure test last fall, missing gear oil over the season? As you know it only gets worse and possibly more expensive too.

There wasn't any special reason for the pressure test, part of my yearly maintenance.
