Since OJ is apparently cleaning up after WILMA, I trust all is well with him and all the others down there... I thought I'd keep the ball rolling in his absence.<br /><br />Since I own a boat and belong to Iboats, I am considered to be a "Rich White Honkie". George Bush and The US Government is prejudiced aginst us rich white honkies! <br /><br />There are over 30,000 tourists stranded in Mexico as a result of WILMA, reportedly mostly Americans. And FEMA and The Government are not doing anything to help rescue them! And since few if any black people vacation in Mexico, we can only assume the rest are rich white honkies. And i am assuming RICH, since we all know here that poor white trash can't afford to vacation in such spots. (The beer is too expensive)<br /><br />This is purely a racist act and I am calling for an immediate protest. Tie ourselves to the White House fence if necessary. <br /><br />GEORGE BUSH, Send help to our fellow honkies now!

We should just have the Coast Guard drop them snorkels and they'll be fine . . . Of course we need to use white Coasties as that's who we are rescuing. Oh, and we need to start a comission to investigate why black people don't go down there. And we need to see if the airlines that take the rich white honkies down there are racist and won't let black people on their planes. Oh, and since this is Mexico, shouldn't we have Hispanic flight crews? Man, my head hurts . . .

I have found it to be quite effective to no longer classify myself as "white". My new racial identity is "Scottish-American". I've never been to Scotland but that should not matter. When filling out any form where ethnicity/race is asked for, I check other. Hopefully this will get me out of the "rich white honkey" stereotype.<br /><br />I would encourage anyone else who thinks they are "white" to embrace their culture.

alden,<br /><br />On the 2000 census form for our family, I checked every box for Race/ethnicity.<br /><br />I like to think I'm color-blind, as I think the government should be.<br /><br />My favorite one, though, is "Native American":<br />Of course I am, I was born in Chicago.

Ever notice that it is illegal to discriminate against age and race on a job application? There is not place for your date of birth, but it usually asks what race your are? Never could figure out why. <br /><br />Good Troll KaGee...

Keith, I wondered when someone was going to blame George for the problem in Mexico. I know my wife blamed him when she chose to only listen to the end of the story on the news. Boy did she look like an idiot when I informed her that the people were vacationing in Mexico.<br />But hey, rich white people can not be discriminated against, remember? Affirmative Action makes that legal!
