That may be the better approach. Call it a troll before anyone else does. I tried saying it wasn't a troll upfront. That went over about as well as a ____________ .

Galveston had much more time to plan than New Orleans did.

After Katrina went through Florida, it was projected to go due north. New Orleans wasnt even considered.

Ken

Resposibility starts at the top. Nagen showed none whatsoever. People below him showed none either. As the old saying gos, "hope for the best, prepair for the worst" They made no preperations to protect any equipment at all. School buses, police cars and equipment and fire trucks, they are all ruined, or at least most of them. You have to move all that equipment out for worst case senerio. I have a feeling that Texas would have done most of what they have done now, Katrina or not.

Its the danged weather. I can't complain in the midst of what all is going on down south, I'm 300 miles from the coast, but I keep the boat in a storage yard, my slot is right under a huge old pecan tree. So I got permission to move it across the yard since we were forecast 75-80mph winds Sat. nite/Sunday. Revised forecast now says 40mph tops. But I disassembled the trailer hubs last weekend & had a tough time gettin' 'em back together. Tomorrows forecast is t-storms all day. Took today off to finish up. Lost one a the spindle washers, it's just a danged washer how hard can it be? Drove all over town, car parts store, hardware stores, don't have it, finally found it. Danged if it wasn't 101* at 3pm, too hot to go fishing, didn't want to go too late 'cause I have to unload the boat at home (batteries, t/m, gear, etc.) then take it back to storage after I get home. We get t-storms & sometimes hail from these hurricanes, the big ones if they move inland far enough, and maybe even a tornado or two, so I kept thinkin it oughta cool off some today. Haven't been fishing in three weeks. See why I can't complain, it's all just a bunch a BS, I mean, just a little aggravation. I didn't even realize how I felt about it. I feel much better now. Thanks for askin, sorry I took it out on you.

Anyway I thought that pic worked with the collection, I see now it was in poor taste, sorry, oj.

I can relate to that spindle washer deal jtex. Been many a time I go on treasure hunts for something that should be had easily.
A real biotch is calling for parts, give year, model, and so forth. Get a reply of "bring the old one in and we'll match it up"

Hope the weather goes easy on you and all in your area. :)
