Hello,
I have a 1996 Volvo penta 4.3L (although i think it's an OMC engine)

Model # 432APHUB
Serial # T1286369

Looking for a definite number of water drain plugs. I can only find two, one on either side of block near the bottom.

And as for the manifold, no drains. Except for a rubber boot thing with a clamp on it at the rear of the manifold. Is this the only place i drain the manifold from?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Will post another thread on getting a correct manual. But until then need a little input. Thanks.

one on either side of the block

you can remove the rubber boot at the back of each manifold and drain that way or remove the hose at the front of the manifold and drain - or do both

check the front of the INTAKE manifold below the thermostat housing for a 9/16" square plug - needs to be removed to drain water from the intake - if no plug is present, the intake will drain through the block

If you're referring to the rubber boots on the rear of each factory exhaust manifold, that is the drain for them. As the other poster stated, there is also a drain with a square head plug on the front of the factory intake manifold right behind the belts and below the thermostat housing. Probably has a power steering cooler on the back of the engine too, down below the distributor. You can trace the power steering and cooling lines to it to locate it. Just take the hoses off to drain it. Also, if you have the belt driven seawater/impeller pump unhook the hoses from it as well. It's down on the bottom left side of engine.

So if your's is like mine, a 98 4.3 Penta, you should have the block drains, 1 on each side. The two drains on the exhaust, 1 per manifold. The intake manifold plug. The PS cooler and the seawater pump to drain all the water out.
