I was somewhat disappointed that the other buffoon thread (How do you spell buffoon) was more about political issues, or spelling or something, instead of actual buffoons. Note that I've excluded sitting presidents and vice presidents out of respect for the office.

Feel free to write-in your own candidates.

Thanks!

[edit: please disregard the words "if not already named" where ever they appear. thx]
[2nd edit: my apologies for misspelling "Schwarzenegger" - you can't edit poll questions]
[3rd edit: more clarification - vote "Yes" if you think, "Duh - of course this one is a buffoon". A "No" vote means "Are you crazy?"]
[4th edit: to non-U.S. iboaters apologies for not including a "Don't have one" choice for "Your..." questions. Just pick politicians who represent your locality in your national government, if your government has such a thing, for Senator and Representative, and a regional elected official for Governor. The idea is to see how many believe they are personally represented/governed by buffoons.]

How about Jocelyn "we need safer bullets" Elders who also promoted teaching masturbation as a means of birth control.

Once again I must Quarrell with the poll rules. If your whatever was "already named" then you should not vote, but you must. I proclaim all results null and void . . .

However, I will not jump onto the Tehcnoname-calling (as opposed to name changing) band wagon and write in jtex. That would be unfair as a slight technical error should not taint years of respected commentary ;) Plus I like his dog.

My write-in Buffoon is none other than . . . no, not him, that would be too easy . . . Howard Dean.

Re: Official Buffoon Topic (Poll)

Thanks QC, modified the instructions based on your observation - the affected jurisdictions are
Senator (both - sorry MA, didn't intentionally single you out): MA
Senator (either first or second): AZ, NY
Representative: TX 22nd district (Gulf Coast)
Governor: CA

If the affected voters answered as they would have, given the amended rules, the results of those four questions will not be affected. Otherwise, we'll just pretend that they did. That's how they do it in Florida, right?

Note to kagee: worked for me ;) , wouldn't want to see it taught in school though, whoever can't figure it out on their own will just have to get private lessons.

I hate the notion of current political climate of turning into two dimiensional cartoon characters those that you are opposed to idealogically.

We have a two party system here in the US, and both parties should treat the other side with respect. Argue all you want about the specific policies you don't like, but characterizations like "buffoon" , as with any other personal attacks, are not good for this country.

No one has all the answers for what could make things better in this country, despite what Rush says, and we are more likely to get better solutions if we encourage an open dialogue, and listening once in a while, rather than simply throwing hand grenades.

And yes, both sides are to blame.

And yes, there is that liberal idealism rearing its ugly head, and I do know better, but, what the heck, it's worth a shot at least.

Quarlesome, you have the distinction of being the worst politician on the board. I spell quarlesome the way I do because I once knew a fellow named Quarles and he was, as well. Incidently it is correctly spelled quarrel. I find it odd that there is a distiction made between the name calling you participate in and that to which you take offense. Or better, that with which you use to attempt to promote derisive comments. :nothingfits:

techno,

BTW, I have always had trouble with double consonants. I'll continue to work on it, thanks.

Edited for anything that could be construed as argumentative or negative out of respect for the humorous nature of jtex' poll.

No-no-no-no-no there are other threads for that, this one is about buffoonery. Bi-partisan buffoonery! And I'm the only i-boats member so far with any votes at all!

Yeah, let's be adult. Quarlesome can't be blamed if he is the only one with brains. ;)

Why is everbody picking on poor little Danny Quale
he was a product of our new media. I guess this means the majority believes what the new media says. He should be ZOMOs hero they just picked on him because he was young. IMHO

I'm pleased you added the "Who the Heck" option, it gave me a chance to take part.

The questions I did have an opinion, my selection was with the majority

With that snickering hound over there it's hard to tell...are you seriously saying Danny didn't have you laughing out loud a lot of the time?

Also wondering, has anyone else noticed the corelation between the fall of communism and Dan Quayle's rise to power? Coincidence? hmm...

With all due respect, none of the candidates have met the requirements need to be labelled as one who entertains with comic behavior commonly refered to as a buffoon, though i find that Mr Nagin, due to his recent performance to be the least qualified to hold a public office.

Well then you obviously have not seen Al Gore get all fired up. When Hillary gets cranked up, well now that is just annoying, but Al makes me laugh. I have to admit I am usually not sure who I am really laughing at, Al or those who think he makes sense, but I have to give credit where credit is due . . .
