oh no !!! **** rodents

Today I took the cover off my fathers 140 nissan to get it ready for him to do some fishing,I saw a little hole in the cover,took off the cover and what a mess !! field mice,or some kinds of rodents literally caused a disaster under the cowl,all kinds of wires chewed up,fuel lines,plastic covers you name it .My heart sank,Im not gonna mention it to my old man cause he dosnt need the stress.The local shop was amazed,but the gentleman took the engine right in as he also fealt sorry for dad,he says it will be ready in 2 weeks.what a mess !! I say all this just in case you guys store your outboards outside to keep a good eye on them after time,I never had a problem before and never even seen a rodent in my yard,now I know better. watch them rodents !!

i store my boat outside wrapped up in blue poly bungee tarp... i dump a box of moth balls in the boat & some in the motor... also some rat/mice d-con poison... i figure the the moth balls would make it uncomfortable for any small mammal to want to stay....

Crab bait, good ideas i should of done the moth ball and poison thing next time i will for sure .Djohns, funny I didnt even think about insurance,I guess my home owners should cover it.I will find out how much the damage comes out too,if its a good chunk of change it mite be worth getting it from insurance. Man you guys are great !! thanks for input
