Since this has been sleeping in up north garage for years (heat/freeze), I am sure everything is dried up inside (my guess it has some kind of floatation spray form inside). Now, when I move it around or turn it over, I can feel something is loose/banging inside. I am guessing it's some sort of framing. Would this be necessary to bother with whatever is inside?

So, to "fix" this, I would have to cut/open it up? If so, then it becomes junk (useless)?

If I could still use this on water (and whether I cut it open or not), should I fill inside with (blue can) Great Stuff Window and Door Foam Insulation? If I do can fill the inside with whatever spray form, should the boat be lying flat or upside down? And would need to place cement blocks on the floor (to help prevent over bubble)?

There's other things I need to talk about, but this is main thing for now.

Chuck

Ayuh,..... Absolutely Not,..... Expandin' foam in that will blow it apart,....

If you want to use it,................... Use it,...... As is,.......

If there's no holes or big cracks in the outside "wet" surfaces, whether there's foam in it, or not don't really matter,.....
It'll float, regardless,.....

OK. Just asking... as you may have seen those... there have some YouTuber that did that and I thought to ask about that.

I am NOT saying they are right, just asking... I just want to get some ideas, if my boat could do better. The other thing is concern about the loose "whatever" inside of it.

Mod Comment - Embedding a video works better than linking. And more than one can attached.

Link below is one that "explains" the reasons. There's another link that actually shows how another person put the yellow can ones in his boat and experienced the boat "better" (but this thread only allows one link... I am still new to this forums).

Here's next post to allow another YouTube, as I mention.

Ayuh,...... Contrary to his conclusions,.....

Puttin' foam in a boat does Not add anything to it's bouncy,.....
It'll float lower, by the weight of the foam,.....
