Oil alarm sounds when it's choppy?!

Hey guys 1990 150 gt here. Runs great, except for the fact that once in a while I will get steady alarm followed by alarm every other second. I've noticed that this only happens when I'm out on choppy water. I know the steady alarm is fuel restrictions or over heat. And beeping may be vro failure or air in oil line. But this is only intermittently a problem and goes away when on flat water. Any suggestions?

Run on 50:1 premix til you get this sorted out!!!!

Start by cleaning all wire connecyions. Isolate and chec for intermittant short to ground on the tan wires maybe by jiggleing them.

The intermittent alarm is probably from the oil tank. It thinks it's low. Either it is low, or the rough water may cause the sensor to think it is low. When mine gets low, it runs fine at idle. (boat is level in the water) Once on plane, the bow rises, the oil goes to one side of the tank- and the alarm starts. So, when low, I just slowly put put home.....

The 1 sec beep is what makes me think he has a wire/vro issue and not the low oil unit in the tank. As well as the constant restriction / overheat horn.

To rule out the tank alarm simply disconnect the wires and see if it still happens, while running 50:1 of course. The double oil will not hurt.

Thank you for all the input, as far as the oil level theory that it's moving, I thought that to so I filled it to the top and it still did it. I'm going to have to really check the wiring

Ok weather has been crappy so haven't been able to test it yet but I checked oil Line going to vro pump and looked wet. Turns out the plastic hose clamp was broken. What are the odds that that's what the problem was??

So I swapped the old brittle plastic oil line clamps with stainless and it seemed to fix the problem
