Oil alarm

I posted last weekend about having the oil alarm go off on a 115hp Johnson that i just bought. I placed some oil in the fuel and it stopped, but a guy said to empty out the oil tank and replace a "sock". Well i don't see a sock in it. I looked on ishopmarine at the specs for the oil tank and it doesn't show a sock either. Does anyone know where i sould start or do i just replace the entire unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Oil alarm

That was me Crabahoy.... :) Probably should have said filter....my bad. It's a rather flat looking filter that fits on the end of the pick up tube in the oil reservoir. Sorry for the confusion.
