I'm looking for the best method to use when changing my engine oil. What is your favorite equipment for this?

Thanks,

Suck it out the dipstick tube with this:
BigBoy 05060
Topsider MVP Oil Changer/Multi-Purpose Pump

Less that $60

Works great

After the oil is out I make a suggestion that worked great for me. If you can get to your oil drain plug take it out. Go to the store and get a brass ball valve to replace your drain plug. Get 4 feet of hose small enough to go through your drain plug hole (in the transome) and big enough to fit over the valve. Install the valve and you have a very easy way to change your oil when the boat is on the trailer.

That is the slowest possible way of changing oil known to man.
Even if warm it just dribbles out.
Besides, on his engine, the dipstick tube is attached to the bottom of the pan, if it's removed, he would have no dipstick.
Mercruiser does use those hoses, no valve required. I just remove the plug from the hose and use the pump on the hose.

I agree with Don S. The tube is way to slow. My Merc 5.7 has the drain tube,
used it 2 times. Moeller makes a great manual pump, holds 1.75 gal. and only takes 10-15 pumps to empty the whole sump. No extension cords required.
