I just bought a 19' Stingray powered by the inboard outboard Mercruiser 190. Upon checking fluids prior to the maden voyage it was descovered that the oil level was correct. I did have a couple of overheating issues, but I don't think that would effect the oil level. I noticed that the vent tube running from the valve cover to the air cleaner is puffing oil all over the engine compartment and after a couple of hours I was two quarts low on oil. What would cause this? Is this normal? I think the tube is hooked up wrong because it looks as if it supposed to aim it into the breather rather than into the mid air. But even if it were hooked up right I don't think it should be putting out that kind of oil. Please advise if you are firmilure with this set up.
